Privacy Policy
Last updated October 15, 2026. This explains what One Dollar Boats collects, why, and your choices.
1What we collect
To run the auctions we collect: your name, email address, phone number, and the city/state you provide; your bidding, offer, watch and purchase activity; messages you send us through a listing; and, for donors, the boat and location details you submit. We also record standard technical data (IP address, device/browser) to keep the service secure.
We do not collect or store card or bank account numbers — there is no online payment on this website. Payment happens externally using the instructions on your invoice.
2How we use it
To operate your account, run auctions, process wins, invoices and pickups, answer your questions, prevent fraud and abuse, meet legal obligations, and send you transactional messages about your own activity (wins, invoices, outbid notices, replies).
3Phone verification
If phone verification is enabled, we send a one-time code by SMS through our provider (Twilio) to confirm your number, and we store the verified number to prevent duplicate and fraudulent accounts. Standard message rates may apply.
4Email
We send service emails (wins, invoices, messages, reminders) through our email provider (Resend). These are part of using the platform rather than marketing; we don't send promotional email without your consent.
5Service providers
We share only what's necessary with the vendors that run the platform — hosting and delivery (Vercel), database, storage, auth and realtime (Supabase), email (Resend), and SMS (Twilio) — and with authorities where required by law. We do not sell your personal data.
6Retention
We keep account and transaction records for as long as your account is active and as needed for legal, tax, and fraud-prevention purposes. Sold-listing records are retained for our history and buyer protection.
7Your choices
You can access or update your details in your account, and you can request deletion of your account data by contacting us. Some records may be retained where the law or fraud prevention requires it. You can stop future SMS by replying STOP.
8Children
The platform is for adults. It is not directed to anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
9Changes
We may update this policy; the “last updated” date above reflects the current version.
