Terms of Sale

Last updated October 15, 2026. These terms govern your use of One Dollar Boats and every bid, offer, purchase and donation made through it. By registering, bidding, or donating you agree to them.

1The auction

Every boat is listed starting at $1 with no reserve. The highest valid bid when the clock ends wins the boat. If a bid is placed in the final two minutes, the clock extends by two minutes (a “soft close”) until bidding stops.

One Dollar Boats lists boats received through donation and sells them on an as-is basis. We are the seller of record for the transfer, acting on the donor's behalf.

2Bidding and offers are binding

Placing a bid, or making an offer that we accept, is a binding commitment to buy the boat at that price. Do not bid or make an offer unless you intend to complete the purchase. Retracting or refusing a winning bid is a non-payment and may lead to cancellation and account restrictions.

New accounts may bid up to a set limit until their first completed purchase, and we may require phone verification before your first bid.

3As-is, where-is — no warranty

All boats, trailers, motors and equipment are sold as-is, where-is, with all faults and no warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability or fitness for a purpose. Descriptions, photos, year, make, model, hours and condition are provided in good faith from information supplied by the donor and our intake process, and may be incomplete or inaccurate.

You are responsible for satisfying yourself as to condition before bidding. Use the “Ask a question” option on any listing before you bid.

4Fees

There is no buyer's premium. A flat document processing & transfer fee is added to the winning bid on every sale and is shown on each listing and on your invoice. It covers title verification, invoicing and collection, and the transfer paperwork with the boat's owner, including a bill of sale.

5Payment

Payment is due within the window shown on your invoice (typically 48 hours of winning). Accepted methods are listed on the invoice. We do not process card or bank payments on this website — you pay externally using the invoice instructions, and we record your order as paid once funds are received. If you need more time, contact us; we can extend the deadline once. Non-payment may result in cancellation, relisting, a second-chance offer to another bidder, and restriction or closure of your account.

6Collection and title

Buyers collect. Once payment is confirmed we provide the exact pickup address and a contact so you can arrange collection. We do not arrange or pay for transport. Title status is stated per listing; where a title is not available the boat is sold on a bill of sale. You are responsible for registration, titling and any taxes in your jurisdiction.

7Money-back guarantee

Where stated, a 30-day money-back guarantee applies if a boat was not accurately described. If you do not take possession of the boat and/or title because it was materially misdescribed, we will refund your payment, including the document fee. Repeated refund requests may lead to restriction of future bidding to keep the platform fair for all buyers.

8Donations

When you donate a boat you confirm you are the legal owner (or authorized to act for the owner) and that the information you provide is accurate. Pickup is arranged at no cost to you. A donor may withdraw a boat before it is collected; once a boat has sold, cancellation by the donor may require us to refund the buyer.

9Accounts and conduct

One account per person. You are responsible for activity on your account. We may refuse, suspend, or permanently ban accounts and phone numbers for non-payment, fraud, shill bidding, abuse, or any attempt to manipulate the auctions.

10Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, One Dollar Boats is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from a boat, a transaction, or your use of the platform. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the boat at issue.

11Changes

We may update these terms; the version in effect at the time of your bid or donation applies. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above.
